I am 18 looking into getting a breast augmentation. Are there any tips that can help me decide if breast augmentation is right for me? I have thought about it for years and now finally I am researching information about it. My main concern is how it will affect my body and my health.

Breast augmentation is really a full body procedure. You should consider overall body proportions when thinking about size. This is a decision you and your surgeon will make together. It is important to understand that there is not a wide range of implant sizes and profiles that will look natural in each individual patient. Given your height, weight and preoperative breast profile, there really is a limited range of implants sizes and profiles that will produce a full - but natural - breast appearance. So it is important to establish from the beginning whether or not you and the surgeon that you have selected have the same aesthetic vision. One of the best ways to do this is by reviewing the surgeon's 'before and after' photos.

I am scheduled for a chin implant (under-chin, silicone) with neck liposuction in December. I have some concerns about nerve damage. Is nerve damage to my lips, chin, and neck a strong possibility with either the implant or the liposuction? Also, I have questions about infection. Is that also a…

Some individuals have ‘sagging’ necks primarily due to fat accumulation below the jawbone (mandible). In some cases, liposuction alone can significantly improve the neck appearance. Liposuction is also frequently combined with surgical neck rejuvenation, and in selected cases some direct excision of fat (through a hidden incision below the chin) is performed. The reduction of fat in the area below the jawline and in the anterior neck almost always makes the neck appear longer, and makes the patient’s profile appear more elegant or refined In some cases, a chin implant can also be included to provide a natural looking proportion to the profile. Be sure your plastic surgeon is a member of ASAPS and the procedure will be performed in an accredited facility. Look at many, many before and after images s evidence of results.

I have acne scars on both of my cheeks and I want then to be cosmetically removed. What procedures are available and how effective are they? Once up a time, the answer would have been, there is no way to remove acne scars. Today, multiple options are available to greatly reduce, or dramatically removal acne scars. The result is multi-faceted and it is a process, but each procedure will minimize scars. PRF - platelet rich fibrin combined with microneedling is a wonderful treatment for a variety of skin care concerns. The V-beam laser is a pulse dye laser is wonderful for reducing scars and can also address red colored scarring more effectively than any other procedure. Laser skin tightening with a long pulsed nd yag laser can improve collagen production and smooth scars. Ask for many before and after images to be sure your plastic surgeon has experience with acne scars.

I had breast augmentation a while back. One of my breasts was constricted. I have developed tuberous "snoopy dog" deformity in the constricted breast. I have seen a few doctors to have my snoopy dog breast corrected. Two doctors said that I should have the breast dropped; that way it would correct…

Tuberous breasts tend to be narrow at the base and are overly projecting for their size, and this phenomenon may occur on one or both sides. In its mildest form, the lower pole of the breast is underdeveloped or may even appear constricted – sometimes referred to as a ‘constricted lower pole’. In severe cases the breast is conical in shape and is sometimes described by the patient as looking like a ‘torpedo’ or a ‘Snoopy dog’. Regardless of the degree of tuberosity, it is possible to dramatically improve the appearance of the tuberous breast during augmentation surgery using a number of specialized surgical techniques. Many patients with severely tuberous breasts have said that they have never removed their bra in an intimate setting. Careful patient assessment, thoughtful planning and attention to detail during the surgical procedure can produce a dramatic and life-changing improvement for most patients with tuberous breasts.

Consultation Price
We have a two-part consultation process. Your initial consultation is a complimentary appointment with one of our experienced Cosmetic Surgery Patient Coordinators that is 30 to 45 minutes long. Your Patient Coordinator can give you answers to general questions you may have about surgical procedures in this practice. They will also discuss with you your health history, expectations for surgery, and a general price range for the procedure(s) you are interested in. ‘Before and After’ photographs are also available for your review. If it is determined that the aesthetic enhancement in which you are interested can be accomplished in this practice, then a consultation appointment will be scheduled for you with Dr. Law.

Your consultation with Dr. Law is a one-hour appointment. Dr. Law will discuss with you in detail the aesthetic enhancement(s) that you have in mind, examine the area(s) that you wish to improve, and based on the discussion and examination will put together a personalized surgical plan that meets your individual needs. There is a $100 prepaid fee for this consultation. That charge will be applied to surgery, if you elect to proceed.

For out of town patients, a Cosmetic Surgery Consultant will discuss surgery with you by phone to determine if we can provide the surgical treatment in which you are interested. A completed intake form and digital photographs will be evaluated prior to your telephone appointment, and Dr. Law also requires copies of operative reports from any prior cosmetic surgery that has been performed on the body area for which you desire surgical improvement. Following the telephone appointment, a two-part, in-person consultation appointment may be scheduled, consisting of an initial 30-minute meeting with a Surgery Coordinator followed immediately by a one-hour consultation with Dr. Law.
