My boyfriend has a lump on the side of his forehead, he said it happened after a sunburn when he was young, it's been their ever since. He desperately wants to get it removed. He would see a plastic surgeon for that right? No insurance covers something like that does it? Any idea how something like…

A plastic surgeon would be an excellent choice for removal of a skin growth on the forehead. However depending on the nature of the growth, removal may or may not be necessary, and both dermatologists and plastic surgeons should be able to make the diagnosis, perhaps including a biopsy, prior to removal. Health insurance normally covers the removal of skin cancers or some benign growths, but not necessarily removal if it were only done for appearance sake (cosmetic). This society (ASAPS) has a roster of plastic surgeons in your area. Call them to begin your solution.

I had saline breast implants with a lift for 14 years and then I had them removed. They were under the muscle. I am considering having implants put back in. I do not have any breast tissue. I know they cannot go below the muscle because I had them there before and they were removed 5 yrs ago. How…

Your situation is more challenging than treatment of a patient who has not had multiple prior procedures. Seek a surgeon who is experienced with secondary and revision breast procedures. The circumstances of your prior operations and your current anatomy will determine what your surgeon is able to accomplish. She or he may be able to use saline implants under the pectoral muscles again. New "Ideal" brand implants can give you the feel of silicone gel while maintaining the advantages of saline. The natural look depends on moderate implant size, properly fit to your body and tissues, and on technique of your surgeon.

I have two babies. My tummy is huge and I have very tiny breasts (I am a 36A). Is it possible to use fat harvested from my tummy to increase my breast size? Also, is breast augmentation safe for breast feeding if I happen to have another baby after a few years?

Using one's own fat has become more widely accepted for breast enhancement. The tummy is an excellent donor area for transferring fat, having the advantage of removing unwanted fat at the same time. Breast enlargement with fat grafting will not give you as much enlargement as you can have with breast implants, but it can be improved by a second repeat treatment. On the other hand, fat can give breast contour improvements that cannot be accomplished with implants alone. The grafted fat is generally placed around your actual breast tissue, rather than in the gland itself, so it is unlikely to effect later breast feeding, but this has not been extensively studied.

I am 19 years old, 5'4 and my breast size is a 40DD. I weigh 180lbs which comes from me having pcos (polycystic ovary syndrome) which I was recently diagnosed with but I am slowly losing weight. I have always had a big chest as early as wearing training bras in 2nd grade. I have horrible neck and…

Based on your description of your physical characteristics and symptoms, you would likely be an excellent candidate for breast reduction. Your insurance would likely cover such a procedure. Your next step is to schedule a visit with your primary care physician, discuss your symptoms, and request referral to an experienced board certified plastic surgeon. During the surgeon's consultation, your will learn more and they will have the opportunity to determine whether you would benefit. Best wishes.
