Why was my stomach flatter? My stomach was extremely flat 2 weeks after tummy tuck surgery now I am 5 weeks out and after having drains removed and then put back in and removed again my stomach isn’t as flat. It’s much puffier in the area around my belly button and I have areas of what look like…

If you have a seroma, it can delay the flattening process of the tummy tuck. Once resolved, it should go flat if it was that way right after surgery. Lymphatic massage can make a big difference in clearing fluid in the soft tissue. Check with your surgeon to see if they have any recommendations for providers. Best of Luck!

I'm a 42 year old female that had a lollipop breast lift with augmentation in 2008 with 300 cc (?) silicone gel implants under the muscle. I had less breast tissue on my left breast (due to previous botched surgery), and there was probably more work done and scar tissue in this breast in general…

Capsular contracture is associated with firmness of the implant. As the capsule locks down against the implant it gets progressively more firm and distorts the shape of the breast. The incidence is 6% in the implants you have. I have had patients that describe itching like you are experiencing. For most, it has resolved on its own. I don't have a specific treatment. I don't think what you're describing warrants an MRI because I don't think it will give information that would then suggest a surgery. Best of Luck!

I recently read that a tummy tuck can help with chronic low back pain, and I wanted to see if this is true? I have a total of 4 fused lumbar, with posterior incision. I am a 40 year old multiple, last baby was 9 pounds (and all vaginal deliveries). Still having significant back pain, and ready to…

It won't be considered medically necessary, but it can help by strengthening your core. Repairing the diastasis will allow all of your core muscles to have better strength and tone. I think it is important that you don't put too much stress on the lower back. I will sometimes make the incision just a little higher to avoid needing to have a lot of flexion to take the tension off of the closure.

I had a breast reduction 17 years ago by the NHS United Kingdom. It looks like a dentist performed the surgery. I have 2 total different breasts. It's taken me all these years to realize the anxiety of holding down a relationship is caused through severe depression of my breasts and the thought of…

Sorry that you are unhappy with your results. There are different things that can be done to revise reductions. Finding someone in your area that is an ASAPS member assures that you will be with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Hopefully they can present options to you. All of us hope to have patients that are happy with their results. There are times that the outcome is disappointing even in the best of hands. You are basically asking someone to redo someone else's work. Personally, if I see a patient who uses the word "botched" it is an immediate turn off to me. Best of Luck!
