Thank you for your question. I understand that you are getting conflicting data from your plastic surgeon and your friend who works for a plastic surgeon. Nothing can replace an in person consultation/physical examination. If you are truly interested in a 2nd opinion you should see a another board-certified plastic surgeon in person who can discuss your expectations and perform a physical exam on you. Like many other things there are multiple ways to address a single problem. You have to factor in the patient's desires, expectations, anatomy, as well as the surgeon's knowledge and ability.
