About Iliana E. Sweis, MD

Introduction
It is my sincerest wish that plastic surgery patients understand all of the possible ramifications of their decisions so that they may experience a pleasure that many others can only imagine.

For women and men, looking better has a tremendous impact on self-esteem because of their own critical evaluation and because of society's expectations. The sense of confidence that allows a woman or a man to emanate grace when she or he enters a room stems from within and how they perceive themselves. It is not necessarily something that is bestowed upon them by society or by others' admiration. All of us arrive at this self-actualization by feeling comfortable in our own skin.

Many facets of an individual's life contribute to arriving at this personal acceptance. They span across seeing our accomplishments and accolades, appreciating the success of our personal and professional relationships, learning from and accepting our failures, recognizing the beauty and limitations of our physical attributes, and in some cases, exploring the possibility of altering those physical attributes.

The decision to change one's appearance, no matter how small that change may be, is a highly personal one, often accompanied by uncertainty. If you believe that improving one or more of your physical attributes will provide a greater degree of personal comfort, then exploring the possibility of plastic surgery or some of the non-surgical cosmetic procedures is a reasonable option.

The consultation process is critically important and I take whatever time you need to determine if these procedures are right for you. There is no "standard procedure”. Each patient in my practice is a unique individual and is treated as such. Some may require plastic surgery to achieve their goals, while others may benefit from a minor non-surgical approach for their care. Together, you and I will customize your entire treatment to meet your specific needs. My goal is to utilize the most advanced surgical or non-surgical techniques required to achieve your objectives. My commitment is to provide concierge personal service, maximize your safety and create your best natural cosmetic outcome. Plastic surgery may not add years to your life, but it is my sincerest hope that it adds life to your years.

My daughter is 15, turning 16 next year February. She’s 5’ 7” and around 110 lbs but for almost a year has been complaining about her chest size. She has been wearing a 32 triple d bra for a year or so now and as a result of her breast size, she has quit cross country and track because of feeling…

Thank you for your question. It is difficult for a 15 year old girl to feel comfortable if she cannot participate in sports due to her breast size. We perform breast reductions on young teenage girls very regularly if the size of their breasts limits their physical activity or causes pain along the neck, shoulders and back. Even if pain is not present but the size of their breasts is excessive and causes emotional discomfort, surgery can be a good option at her age. If she is 5'7" ad 110, then her breast size is not due to weight issues. In order to determine if insurance would cover her surgery, it is best to find a board certified plastic surgeon who performs many breast reductions per year and schedule a consultation. Upon examining your daughter, they can write a letter to your insurance company based on their findings to determine if her surgery would be covered.

Can I get a Botox brow lift that focuses on my outer eyebrows? My inner eyebrows are at the same level or slightly higher than my outer eyebrows giving them a slightly droopy look if I don't use make up or brush them up. I also have a horizontal line across the upper part of my nose which I believe…

Thank you for your question. You're correct. You can have Botox injections in the procerus muscle to soften the horizontal line along the bridge of your nose. It is best to do this early. Once this wrinkle gets deep, it is often difficult to completely eliminate with Botox. Also you can raise your lateral brow by injecting Botox in the orbicularis oculi muscle just under the lateral aspect of the brow.
