I have had one child and have lost approx. 20+ pounds. I have loose skin on the abdomen. I am wanting to know if liposuction and skin removal is an option. I never had a flat stomach even at my lowest weight. So I'm not concerned with that.

Congratulations on your weight loss and doing your homework on body contouring procedures! Loose skin is often best addressed with a tummy tuck which removes the excess loose skin and contours your abdomen and to a certain extent flanks and hips as well. Many times, the result of a tummy tuck can be enhanced with the addition of liposuction to further refine areas of concern. Liposuction alone will not get rid of the excess skin, so a combination of tummy tuck and liposuction may be your best bet. Best wishes on a great result and speedy recovery!

I’m quite tall at 6ft and my build is wide but I’m not overweight. I’m a DDD and I feel like my breasts look awkward. Could I get a reduction or would they say that I don’t need one?

Thank you for your question - it is a common one asked by patients. The best answer is to see a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area for an in-person evaluation and exam. Patients of all different sizes and shapes can be good candidates for breast reduction surgery. Your surgeon can help you determine if you are a candidate for breast reduction or breast lift. I have Behcets and have had a lot of pain where my bra band sits. I had an MRI done. The results say I have radial folds with out evidence of silicone outside the envelope, with trace fluids surrounding the implants. Since my implants are double walled, isn't it possible the fluid just saline? And…

Thank you for your question - what to do with older style implants is a frequent topic of discussion. The best course of action is to start with an in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area. There is a school of thought to leave well enough alone if there is not evidence of rupture or symptoms of capsular contracture. Another common theme is to remove older implants and replace them with newer generation cohesive gel implants. An experienced aesthetic breast surgeon can partner with you to develop a treatment plan that best addresses your current needs and future goals with your implants. I am having replacement breast augmentation with lift also lipo flanks and stomach mini tummy tuck. I am in great health also I had 2 c sections 8 years ago. I am worried how long is recovery and pain?

Thanks for your question - this comes up all the time in the office. Every patient is unique in their pain tolerance and recovery but about two weeks is a good estimate for getting back to your usual daily routine. It may be a bit longer to return to more vigorous activities and exercise. Your surgeon will guide you through the recovery process and help determine when it is safe to return to more strenuous activities.
