Introduction

Dr. Cindy Wu is a board-certified plastic surgeon with additional specialization in Aesthetic Breast and Body Surgery. She is proud to be an active member in The Aesthetic Society, The American Society for Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (SESPRS). Originally from Michigan, Dr. Wu is now proud to call North Carolina her home. Dr. Wu specializes in breast augmentation, reduction, lift, implant removal revision surgery, abdominoplasty, liposuction, body contouring, and fat grafting. Her non-surgical services include injectable neuromodulators, fillers, and lasers.

Dr. Cindy Wu was an assistant professor at the University of North Carolina, performing reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. She now is in private practice focusing on aesthetic breast and body surgery, as well as non-surgical treatments of the face, breast and body.

Education & Training

Dr. Cindy Wu received her medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. She then completed a five-year general surgery residency at the University of Chicago, followed by a three-year plastic surgery residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. From there, she completed a one year Aesthetic and Breast Fellowship with world-renowned reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon, Dr. James C. Grotting in Birmingham, Alabama.

Breast reduction?

Do I qualify for a breast reduction if I have 32DDD/34DD's, back neck and shoulder pain, shoulder grooves and band grooves? What qualifications do I need to meet for a reduction?

Yes. Based on your cup size, and symptoms, it sounds like you would get significant improvement in your quality of life after a breast reduction. The symptoms you have described are very common for women with large, heavy breasts. After breast reduction, women feel a weight lifted off their shoulders, literally, and enjoy not only relief of their pain, but also a more aesthetically pleasing breast appearance. I would recommend that you meet with a board certified aesthetic plastic surgeon to discuss breast reduction surgery.
