This is possible but ill advised. It can be done with local and sedation but can be very uncomfortable especially if the implants are placed under the muscle. I prefer general anesthesia so that you are comfortable and I can do a good job. During surgery, I sit the patient up and sometimes use breast sizers. You really want to have operation the first time.. Good Luck.
My experience has shown me that local anesthetic is inadequate for breast augmentation. Even with sedation and intercostal nerve blocks the pain is intolerable in my experience.
Considering that submuscular placement of breast implants is a common method today local anesthesia in this case is definitely inadequate.
