About Paul Deramo, MD
Introduction
After completing undergraduate and medical school training at University of California, Davis, Dr. Deramo moved to Texas and completed General Surgery residency at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. He then pursued Plastic Surgery fellowship at UT Houston / Texas Medical Center campus. Here, he trained at Memorial Hermann hospital, the busiest trauma center in the country, as well as the world-renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center. His training focused heavily on cosmetic surgery, free flap breast and extremity reconstruction, and complex hand and facial trauma reconstruction. He has numerous publications in the fields of general and plastic surgery and received research grant funding to study lower extremity amputation nerve surgery (targeted muscle reinnervation) outcomes. He is board certified in both general surgery (ABS) and plastic surgery (ABPS).
Utah is a special place for the Deramo family. Dr. Deramo and his wife Jenni got married in the Wasatch mountains, and along with their 2 young children, have settled in Utah to be near family. Dr. Deramo and his wife have traveled to Peru and Honduras on multiple medical mission trips to provide health care and correction of congenital and acquired malformations in young children. He considers it an honor and privilege to practice plastic surgery. He listens closely to each patient, deeply cares about their goals, and strives to help them be the best version of the themselves.
