About Pat Pazmino, MD
Introduction
Dr. Pazmiño is a board-certified plastic surgeon whose career has been built on one guiding principle: your safety comes first. Although his practice is based in Miami, patients travel from across the country and around the world to see him, drawn by his expertise and his reputation as a national leader in patient safety. Professional Background
Dr. Pazmiño is the founder of Miami Aesthetic, a boutique practice located in the Brickell area of Miami, where he has cared for patients for more than 20 years. He specializes in body contouring, breast surgery, and minimally invasive facial aesthetic procedures. He serves as Chair of the Aesthetic Society's Patient Safety Committee and Associate Editor of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, the leading journal in plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine. He also serves on the Board of Directors of The Aesthetic Foundation as Treasurer and Co-Chair of its Scientific Research Committee, and he teaches plastic surgery residents and fellows as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Miami and the University of Pittsburgh.
His research on the risks of Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedures earned the journal's Best Domestic Paper award for 2023, and his anatomic studies led to a safer BBL technique that uses high-resolution ultrasound during surgery, with consistently safe outcomes in more than 4,200 patients. Florida lawmakers used this work as the foundation for a 2023 law requiring ultrasound guidance for every BBL performed in the state, dramatically reducing BBL-related deaths. In recognition of these contributions,
