Dr. Cedars studied electrical engineering and biology at MIT, then attended medical school at UCSF. He trained in General Surgery at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai and in Plastic Surgery at UCLA. He did a fellowship in craniofacial and microvascular surgery at UCLA. He returned to the Bay Area in 1987 and established a practice in the East Bay so he could work at Children's Hospital, where he still spends one day a week treating children with birth defects of the head and face. Now, the majority of his practice is cosmetic surgery.
