Education & Training
Dr. Carney earned his medical degree before completing an integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at the Yale School of Medicine, one of the nation's premier plastic surgery training programs. During his residency, he received comprehensive training in aesthetic surgery, microsurgery, craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, breast reconstruction, and complex reconstructive procedures.
His training emphasized both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, providing a strong foundation in advanced surgical techniques and evidence-based patient care. Following residency, Dr. Carney returned to Virginia to join The Carney Center, where he continues to provide state-of-the-art plastic surgery care to patients throughout the region.
