The Zelken Institute was founded in 2016 as Z Plastic Surgery. Dr. Zelken’s early vision was to create a practice focused on plastic surgery alone. But he quickly realized that adjunctive technologies and treatments, like lasers, fillers, and vitamins, vastly enhanced the results of surgery. In response to this realization, he recruited a veteran anesthesiologist from Hoag who shared his vision, and a world-class nurse injector and trainer. By incorporating wellness medicine, skin care, tattooing, injectables, fillers, and lasers, this was no longer just a plastic surgery practice. Dr. Zelken changed the name of the practice to Zelken Institute for Aesthetic Medicine in 2017 to respect the benefits of this unique multidisciplinary and evidence-based approach to patient care.
