About Jennifer B. Buck, MD

Introduction
Dr. Jennifer B. Buck is a board-certified plastic surgeon and the founder of Dunedin Plastic Surgery, nestled in the heart of charming downtown Dunedin, Florida. Our beautiful new facility on Scotland Street reflects Dr. Buck’s philosophy: that exceptional care should be delivered in an environment that is as warm, welcoming, and distinctive as the community it serves. Situated in one of Florida’s most beloved coastal towns, the practice is a destination for patients from across the Tampa Bay area and beyond who seek world-class aesthetic results in a setting that feels personal rather than clinical.

With over two decades of experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Buck has built a reputation grounded in compassionate, individualized care. Patients consistently describe her as someone who truly listens — who takes time to understand their goals, answers every question with patience and warmth, and makes them feel genuinely supported from the first consultation through the final follow-up. Dr. Buck is one of the few female-owned plastic surgery practices in Pinellas County, and she brings a uniquely empathetic perspective to every procedure she performs.

Professional Background

Dr. Buck has been a cornerstone of plastic and reconstructive surgery in the Tampa Bay area since 2002. With a clinical focus on breast and cosmetic surgery, she has earned a reputation as one of the region's most experienced and respected surgeons. Her contributions extend beyond the operating room — she has authored peer-reviewed publications and presented her research at national conferences, including a landmark 2003 paper in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery detailing a resorbable tack fixation technique for endoscopic brow lifts.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Buck has served in numerous hospital leadership roles, including as Chairman of the Department of Surgery and President of the Medical Staff at Mease Countryside and Mease Dunedin Hospitals, and as a Board Member of BayCare Health Systems and the Mease/Morton Plant Hospital. She has also served as Past President of the Tampa Bay Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

Education & Training

Dr. Buck’s surgical training is exceptionally broad and rigorous, spanning over a decade of residency and fellowship training across general surgery, burn surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and a dedicated fellowship in cosmetic and breast surgery. Key highlights include:

• Bachelor of Arts in Biology — Northwestern University
• Doctor of Medicine — University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ): New Jersey Medical School (1988–1992)
• General Surgery Residency — University of Florida Health Science Center / Jacksonville, FL (1992–1997)

• Plastic Surgery Residency — University of Illinois at Chicago (1998–2001)
• Fellowship in Cosmetic and Breast Surgery — Private Practice with James C. Grotting, MD, Fellowship Director (2001–2002)

This comprehensive training — five years of general surgery, one year of burn surgery, three years of plastic and reconstructive surgery, and a specialized fellowship year in breast and cosmetic surgery — gives Dr. Buck a uniquely versatile skill set and an unusually deep foundation for delivering safe, natural-looking aesthetic results.

How Dr. Buck goes beyond

“Let’s do something fabulous! — Where surgical excellence meets genuine compassion, and every patient leaves feeling as fabulous as they truly are.” At Dunedin Plastic Surgery, going beyond means taking every patient seriously — truly listening to their goals, crafting a fully individualized plan, and walking with them every step of the way. Dr. Buck’s patients describe a surgeon who remembers their story, answers calls personally, and even buckles them into their car after a procedure. That level of personal attention is not a policy — it is simply who Dr. Buck is. Our new home in the heart of downtown Dunedin reflects that commitment: a setting as warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed as the care you’ll receive inside.
