About Chet Mays, MD
Introduction
Dr. Mays is a nationally recognized and award-winning, board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic surgery and has become a national leader in cosmetic breast surgery, authoring a textbook and over 20 book chapters. He comes from a family of surgeons and considers himself an artist more than a doctor, due to his ability to sculpt the human form. The operating room, or the “art studio” as he calls it, is where he performs his masterpieces. He is a compassionate physician who understands that plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments are very personal choices. Dr. Mays works in collaboration with his patients to produce optimal, natural-looking results.

How Dr. Mays goes beyond
Dr. Mays believes plastic surgery involves more than what can be done for patients, but also how doctors can teach others to perform the procedures they have perfected. As a gratis faculty member for the University of Louisville Division of Plastic Surgery, he is also involved in teaching his expert techniques to the next generation of plastic surgeons.
