Education & Training
As an undergraduate, Dr. Chalekson attended UCLA, where he graduated with departmental highest honors. Then he attended medical school at USC, where he graduated with several distinguished honors and awards.
Following medical school, he had the honor of being selected to attend one of the best plastic surgery residency programs in the country. At Southern Illinois University, he completed one of the first six-year plastic surgery residency programs, as opposed to the usual 2-year programs. During this time, Dr. Chalekson worked under the supervision of the presidents of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Association of Hand Surgeons, and the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery.
Following medical school, he had the honor of being selected to attend one of the best plastic surgery residency programs in the country.
