About Carrie A. Houssock, MD
Introduction
Dr. Houssock is the current owner and medical director of JEV Plastic Surgery & Medical Aesthetics. She strives to ensure that each patient receives the highest-quality aesthetic care delivered with compassion and the utmost regard for safety. She is dedicated to her patients and uses the latest techniques and technology to help men and women of all ages look and feel their very best.
In 2021, Dr. Houssock’s extraordinary work as a plastic surgeon was recognized by her peers and Newsweek when she was added to the magazine’s “America’s Best Plastic Surgeons 2021” list. She was ranked among the top 387 plastic surgeons in the nation in the categories of breast augmentation, liposuction, and facelift.

Education & Training
After receiving her undergraduate degree in biology (cum laude) at Franklin and Marshall College, Dr. Carrie Houssock earned her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. She went on to complete an internship and residency in general surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where she earned several Excellence in Teaching Awards and the Gibbon Surgical Society Award. She spent a research year during her residency as a clinical research fellow in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Houssock went on to complete a second residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. There, she won the Frank Coulson, Jr. Award for Clinical
Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Houssock was invited by the practice founder, Dr. James Vogel, to join as an associate in 2017. In 2020, she and Dr. Vogel honorably switched roles, and Dr. Houssock purchased the practice from Dr. Vogel—renaming it JEV Plastic Surgery & Medical Aesthetics.
Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Houssock was invited by the practice founder, Dr. James Vogel, to join as an associate in 2017. In 2020, she and Dr. Vogel honorably switched roles, and Dr. Houssock purchased the practice from Dr. Vogel—renaming it JEV Plastic Surgery & Medical Aesthetics.

Surgical Facilities
In addition to our warm and professional office and staff, our operating facility is fully licensed as a freestanding ambulatory surgical facility by the state of Maryland. It is meticulously clean and well-equipped. Our highest accreditation was conferred by the national agency, the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (AAASF), in 1999.
A private entrance and exit to the surgical center allow for maximum patient comfort, safety, and privacy. A designated pre-op room will enable patients to meet with our Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) the morning of surgery to discuss any questions they may have. We also provide a private waiting area for the families of our patients. This allows family members and friends to relax in comfort while they wait for their loved one to complete their surgical procedure.
Dr. Houssock and our medical staff are focused on each case individually and on your successful outcome. Should any unforeseen events arise, we are all trained to handle emergencies and are prepared to transfer our plastic surgery patients to a nearby hospital on an urgent basis. Additionally, Dr. Houssock closely monitors each patient she treats in our facility.
The Operating and Recovery rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art monitors, supplies, a backup generator for power outages, and an efficient air-filtration system. These precautions, combined with our professional and courteous staff, ensure that our patients receive the finest in plastic surgery care and safety.

How Dr. Houssock goes beyond
Dr. Houssock has a long-standing commitment to service work and has volunteered her time and skills to organizations such as JeffSEAL (Students Educating and Advocating Literacy), JeffHOPE (Health, Opportunity, Prevention, Education), and Operation Smile. With Operation Smile, she traveled to Guwahati, India, in 2012 and recently went on a Cleft Surgical Mission Trip to Ubon, Thailand. On both occasions, she was able to provide necessary surgical care to local patients with cleft lips and cleft palates of all ages. She continues to work with the residents of Johns Hopkins plastic surgery and focuses her education on aesthetics and preparation for private practice.
