Dr. Bhupesh Vasisht (Dr. V) is a native of southern New Jersey, where he grew up on the shore.

Dr. Vasisht graduated from Rutgers University in 1991. He completed his medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1995.

He began his general surgery training at Boston Medical Center and completed it at Staten Island University Hospital. He completed a residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UMDNJ- New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Vasisht was appointed the administrative chief resident in Plastic Surgery during the last year of his training. He went on to complete a hand and microsurgery fellowship at the University of Connecticut- Hartford Hospital.

After his training, he spent two years teaching and performing plastic surgery for residents at Boston University School of Medicine. He held an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Surgery in the department of Plastic Surgery. He has published numerous medical articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. He has written multiple book chapters and spent time giving lectures around the world.
