About Ashley R. Chandler, MD

Introduction
Dr. Chandler found her love for surgery when she was just 11 years old. She accompanied her father, an orthopedic surgeon, to “Daughters to Work Day.” From that point on, she knew that she wanted to touch people’s lives through medicine and surgery.

Education & Training

Dr. Chandler was awarded a full scholarship to attend FSU. While at Florida State University, she worked in a neuroscience research lab studying the effects of estrogen on metabolism. Dr. Chandler graduated with honors with a BS in Exercise Physiology and a double minor in Biology and Chemistry. She continued her academic journey by attending medical school at FSU as well. During her last year of medical school, she found that she truly loved working to help restore women’s bodies and self-confidence after breast cancer.

After graduating at the top of her medical school class, Dr. Chandler was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the highest medical school academic honor. After her general surgery internship at Virginia Tech, she was accepted into a six-year integrated residency in the specialty of plastic surgery in New York. During her residency, Dr. Chandler gained extensive knowledge and skills from leading plastic surgeons, providing the foundation and skills to perfect her operative technique.

To continue her training in breast reconstruction and aesthetics, Dr. Ashley Chandler completed a fellowship with Dr. Dennis Hammond, a leading plastic surgeon in the area of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast.
