About Ashley Gordon, MD
Introduction
Dr. Ashley Gordon is not only one of Austin's most experienced aesthetic plastic surgeons, she is a nationally and internationally recognized educator, speaker, and thought leader in breast and aesthetic plastic surgery. She has shared her techniques, outcomes, and philosophy on stages across the United States and abroad, contributing to the education of the next generation of plastic surgeons.
Professional Background
Dr. Gordon was the first board-certified and aesthetic fellowship-trained female plastic surgeon to practice in Austin, TX. She brings a perspective that is both clinically rigorous and deeply patient-centered. Dr. Gordon specializes in aesthetic surgery of the breast, face, and body, with particular expertise in breast enhancement and complex revisionary breast surgery. She is an invited speaker at national and international plastic surgery conferences on these topics, including presentations at The Aesthetic Society Annual Meeting, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) in Cartagena, Colombia, and the Midwestern Association of Plastic Surgeons. She is the recipient of the Scott Spear Award for Best Breast Presentation at The Aesthetic Society Meeting 2025. She was recognized by Newsweek in 2025 as one of America's Best Plastic Surgeons for Breast Augmentation and Eyelids Lifts. She has also been recongized by Castle Connolly as a Top Plastic Surgeon in Austin every year from 2012 to 2026, named Best Plastic Surgeon in Austin by Austin Monthly from 2013 through 2026, and recognized as a Texas Super Doctor by Texas Monthly from 2014 through 2026.
She co-chairs the MBA: Mastering the Business of Aesthetics program for The Aesthetic Society with Dr. Troy Pittman, delivering bimonthly accredited CME to the Society's membership on practice management, marketing, and patient experience. She has served on medical advisory boards for Establishment Labs (Motiva), Sientra, Mentor, PatientFi, Tiger Medical (Alloclae), and Brijj Medical, and was chosen as the first US breast surgeon to perform surgery with Motiva Breast Implants at the Sulayom Innovation Campus in Costa Rica. She was also part of the USA Early Experience Progam for Preservé.

Education & Training
Dr. Gordon is a native of Louisiana. After graduating from Tulane University and LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, she went on to train in general surgical residency at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in New York, New York. During her general surgery training, she was chosen to spend a year as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the internationally renowned Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. During this time, she pursued her research interests in the biological behavior of skin and scarless wound healing with clinical fetal surgery. This research won the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation Grant in 2001, and she was awarded the Best Scientific Paper at the 35th Anniversary Meeting of The Aesthetic Society.
Dr. Gordon subsequently trained in plastic surgery at the prestigious Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA, completing a 3-year residency. This cutting-edge program is world-recognized for excellence in plastic surgery, as many innovative procedures on breast and aesthetic surgery were developed there. A passion for the constantly evolving nature of aesthetic surgery and a commitment to deliver natural results combined with 21st century technology prompted Dr. Gordon to pursue a fellowship in Aesthetic and Oculoplastic Surgery at Paces Plastic Surgery in Atlanta.

How Dr. Gordon goes beyond
What also distinguishes my practice is honesty. I do not operate on every patient who requests a consultation. If surgery is not the right answer, if there is a better option, or if the timing is wrong I will say so. Patients consistently tell me this transparency is what made them choose me. Consultations are unhurried. I explain not just what I recommend but why, and I present the realistic range of outcomes rather than the ideal version.
I have also been an early adopter of technologies that improve patient experience without compromising outcomes like Preservé minimally invasive breast augmentation, Alloclae for non-surgical breast enhancement in thin patients, and subfascial breast augmentation with Motiva implants & scaffold support for patients seeking longevity in their results. I was among the first surgeons in the US to use several of these technologies and have presented my outcomes at national & international meetings.
