About Ariel N. Rad, MD, PhD, FACS

Introduction
Dr. Rad’s credentials and results speak for themselves: educated at Princeton (B.S.E., magna cum laude), Duke (M.D.) and the University of London (Ph.D.), Dr. Rad is a Johns Hopkins trained board-certified plastic surgeon and Assistant Clinical Professor of plastic surgery there. Since completing his training in 2009, Dr. Rad has performed thousands of aesthetic facial surgeries and he is ranked by independent (unpaid) firms as the top plastic surgeon in Washington DC. Amongst many hundreds of plastic surgeons in the DC and northern Virginia areas, Dr. Rad is proud to have achieved the highest patient ratings across all doctor review websites. He has innovated scarless techniques and is an invited expert in international conferences teaching his techniques to surgeons from around the world. Worldwide patients seek Dr. Rad’s aesthetic, notable for refreshed, balanced results and his rarified level of expertise.

Dr. Rad specializes in minimally invasive approaches such as “closed” rhinoplasty, deep plane face and neck lift, blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) and brow lift. Dr. Rad is also proud to provide complex care to cancer patients and is one of few surgeons capable of performing the most challenging microvascular surgeries: the DIEP flap and "love handle" LSGAP flap for which, with his colleagues at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Rad published the first clinical series.

With his wife, Dr. Rad opened SHERBER + RAD in July 2014 to deliver the full spectrum of collaborative care. Together Drs. Sherber’s and Rad’s approach are centered on comprehensive care and patient privacy. Dr. Rad’s exceptional technical abilities, paired with his cultivated artistic sense, are the tools through which he is able to achieve notably beautiful, natural results. He is commended for his skill in microsurgery and facial aesthetic surgery, his nuanced artistic vision and caring manner.
