Dr. Moya grew up in northern Virginia and pursued his pre-medical education at Virginia Tech, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency training in general surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Greater Miami. He then finished his surgical training with a fellowship in plastic surgery from the University of Utah.

Upon completing his training, he joined Geisinger Health System (Danville, PA) in 2002, where he developed its weight loss and body contouring program. He was also instrumental in developing Geisinger’s cosmetics program, which eventually led to the construction of the Geisinger Center for Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery, of which he was named Director in 2012. After nearly 14 years of employment by the Health System, he decided to leave in 2016 to join Dr. Ernest Normington in his private practice at Lewisburg Plastic Surgery & Dermatology.
