UAB Plastic Surgery Bruce F. Connell Endowed Fellowship

The Bruce F. Connell Endowed Fellowship In Aesthetic Surgery at UAB will be one year and focus on all aspects of aesthetic surgery of the face, body and breasts. It will involve aesthetic surgery experiences in a private practice setting and an academic setting. In the private community, the successful applicant will work side-by-side with Dr. James C. Grotting, who has been teaching Aesthetic Fellows for the past 25 years. He is a past president of The Aesthetic Society and immediate past chairman of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Fellows will have an appointment within UAB Plastic Surgery at the level of Instructor. With progressive compentency, they will have the opportunity to see patients and perform procedures independently. They will have the opportunity to work with residents and students, participate in didactic sessions and research activities with the opportunity to present at national and regional meetings.

One unique aspect the fellow hold the "Bruce F. Connell Endowed Fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery". As such, they will have support to serve as a visiting observer with former trainees of Dr. Connell, preserving and continuing the principles of facial aesthetic surgery that Dr. Connell espoused.
