Description

The UC Irvine program provides a structured clinical opportunity to develop the advanced knowledge, skills, clinical judgment and attitudes essential to the practice of all aspects of aesthetic plastic surgery. The Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship is a one year program with one trainee. Our department has several board certified physicians that can supervise and teach the trainee. This opportunity will allow the trainee in-depth exposure to and advanced training in aesthetic plastic surgery. The UCI Aesthetic Surgery Fellow will work at the UCI Medical Center and with our volunteer community plastic surgeons performing a full variety of cosmetic cases. The fellowship will encompass the entire breadth of aesthetic plastic surgery with the goal of developing skills for pre-operative planning, independently performing high complexity cases, and providing comprehensive postoperative care. The fellow will also gain experience in practice management and the business of aesthetic surgery. The clinical experience will also be supplemented by weekly educational conferences. These include Grand Round conferences, invited Visiting Professor presentations, didactic sessions, anatomy labs, journal clubs, research clubs, and quality improvement conferences.
